John E. Soron – President/CEO
A highly experienced senior executive, John has over three decades of proven leadership experience in managing and growing a variety of businesses. He maintains a successful record of servicing a multitude of global companies included in the transportation, aerospace and governmental industries. Included among his numerous successes is the management of teams and facilities whose primary focus was the design and manufacture of components and systems of a metallurgical, mechanical and electrical nature. John is results oriented and maintains a sharp focus on ensuring customer satisfaction. A former Lieutenant in the US Navy, John has a BS in Industrial Engineering and an MBA with a concentration in Finance, both from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute.
Gary A. Feuz – Executive Vice President
An entrepreneurial veteran with an excess of 30 years of experience, Gary has a proven record of operating and growing custom manufacturing businesses focused on the supply of precision machined castings, as well as associated fabrications and assemblies of those castings and other metal components. His senior position at EBM reflects his ability to coordinate the various activities within the Company while maintaining sole responsibility for all customer service aspects. As such, Gary stands ready to be the customer advocate from the quoting phase through the shipment and installation of the final product.
R. George Frost – Director of Quality
George is responsible for the Quality Management System that is used to ensure that products going to our customers meet the specified requirements. This includes the qualification of processes and suppliers. Before joining EBM, George was an independent quality consultant for several years (EBM was one of his clients), and prior to that, he worked with Atlas Copco for 21 years developing and maintaining their Quality Management System. George has been active in the quality area in the Northeast serving in leadership positions in the American Society for Quality and the Northeast Quality Council. He has earned ASQ certification as Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence, Quality Auditor, and Quality Engineer. He has also earned a Six Sigma Green Belt. He has been certified as a member of the Board of Reviewers of New York State’s Empire State Advantage, Excellence at Work Program. George holds a BSAS degree from Youngstown State University in Civil Engineering and he has completed graduate work at the State University at New York in Business Studies.
Peter Gardiner – Production Manager
Peter recently joined EBM having 29 years of experience in Operations and Manufacturing management within a variety of companies supplying in large part to the transportation industry. He possesses an extensive knowledge of sourcing within the global economy, as well as having repeatedly demonstrated success in managing facilities involved in the fabrication and assembly of both mechanical and electrical components. His prior experience with the design, manufacture, and precision machining of aluminum castings as well as his dedication to quality through the ISO 9000 system serve to greatly enhance EBM’s capability to serve the Customer in a positive manner.
Art Clift – Production Supervisor/Manufacturing Engineer
A benefactor of EBM’s policy to capitalize on the experience and knowledge of its employees, Art first joined the Company in 1983 as a Machine Operator. He has risen “through the ranks” to the position he currently holds and possesses a thorough knowledge of casting manufacture and machining. Art’s dedication to the supply of a superior product is evident in the quality that is seen by the Customer.
Karl Capella – Design and Manufacturing Engineer
With 18 years of experience as an Engineer and CNC expert in the fabrication, machining and assembly of a variety of castings and metal products, Karl fills an invaluable role at EBM by insuring that the Customer’s needs are met through his diligent analysis of their technical requirements. In addition, he provides the resource by which the conceptual becomes reality through his ability to provide casting conversion approaches to previously welded assemblies.
John Moran – Quality Engineer
John is a senior quality engineer at EBM. He acts as a primary interface to the Customer in insuring that design inputs and outputs are met on a consistent basis. His analytical, accurate, and detail oriented approach to the Quality systems at EBM is a direct outgrowth of his experience in the implementation and certification of an ISO 9000 system as recently as 2006. Prior to joining EBM, John was employed as an applications engineer and quality systems professional at Robotics, Inc., a manufacturer of factory automation equipment. John holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University.
Mark Pillash – Engineering Support
A senior manager within the Stanwich Partners LLC (EBM’s owner) family of companies, Mark consults on critical manufacturing and casting issues on an as needed basis. With a career that spans over thirty years and includes key management roles within FMC, ABC-NACO and Matrix Metals, Mark possesses extensive experience in all aspects of metal casting design and manufacture, including foundry start-up, operation and replicast fabrication. Proficient at fabrication to casting conversion, Mark possesses extensive knowledge of metallurgical and quality issues relating to castings, and he has significant experience in product development of forgings and metal castings. Mark’s background includes both domestic and extensive international experience in the castings industry. Mark has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Illinois State University and an MBA from Jacksonville State University. He possesses numerous certificates and ongoing educational credentials relating to castings and other manufacturing techniques.
Tony Farrara – Engineering Support
The former Production Manager of EBM, Tony literally grew up in the business, which was founded by his grand-father. Tony possesses hands-on experience in casting design and all aspects of casting machining, production management and process control within the EBM plant environment. An advocate of advanced production technologies, Tony was instrumental in bringing fully automated Toyoda manufacturing cells to EBM. Tony has a deep familiarity with most of the rail truck components EBM has traditionally supplied, and he understands the strict quality requirements of our customers. Although no longer involved with EBM on a daily basis, Tony is available to bring his deep experience to bear on special projects and to help develop solutions to unique manufacturing challenges.
