We have the capacity to machine castings weighing from 1 to 1000 lbs.  Typically, our envelope sizes will support the machining of castings with dimensions ranging from as small as 2” to 3” to as large as 36” to 60”.  We build prototypes and special production parts, but typically undertake projects with production runs of 50 to 50,000 parts.

EBM maintains a computerized tool room and full machine shop for designing and building fixtures.

Our production department uses advanced design and planning software to organize and coordinate every aspect of production, including:  establishing costs, planning job material requirements, tracking materials, maintaining production and shipping schedules and ensuring warehouse inventory control. 

The heart of EBM’s manufacturing operation revolves around its multi-access Toyoda machining cells.  Each of these fully automated CNC cells has two horizontal machining centers (one running two FA 550s and one running two FA 630s), a rail guided vehicle or pallet system, and the Mach III/System 2 cell controller.   The company also has two separate, stand-alone FA 630s which can be used for development or production work.   Once set-ups are completed, each of the cells can operate on a fully automated basis, meaning the machines can be remotely monitored while operating during unmanned shifts. This vastly increases EBM’s flexibility and economies.  Since their installation these machining centers have reduced EBM’s typical cycle times by up to 50%.

In addition to its Toyoda machining centers, EBM also operates a wide selection of additional CNC and manually controlled vertical and horizontal machining centers and lathes.
