Mach III: Control All Machines From a Single, Powerful PC

Toyoda’s latest generation of Cell Controller software, Mach III, is a smart way to manage part production on your shop floor. The Windows®-based software increases machine and operator productivity by optimizing your production schedule and automating a multitude of tasks.

A single operator can control numerous machining centers, work stations and pallets from one location. Mach III even allows unmanned operation for jobs with long cycle times, or lights-out production on nights and weekends.

Expandable storage means there’s no need to ever remove fixtures from pallets or tools from the magazine. Eliminate repeat set up and tear down by storing up to 300 fixtures and pallets in multi-tier buffer stations served by a single rail-guided vehicle. Part changeover is reduced to minutes by selecting the part number, lot size, and job priority stored in the PC.

Whether you want daily production reports or long-term capacity utilization, the reporting options of Mach III are invaluable. Detailed production data, operation and alarm logs are stored in a Microsoft Access database. It is extremely easy for the user to generate custom reports or to upload data to a corporate database. Click on any machine icon to check job instructions, reports, offsets, tool magazine configuration, and program management. Tool management, monitoring, scheduling and maintenance diagnosis are also provided.

The Cell Controller maintains constant, realtime communication to all machines in the cell. This allows the user to access the CNC of any machines just by clicking on the appropriate icon on the cell layout. All information shown on the machine’s Fanuc control screen is available right on the PC. Remote operation even allows program changes or modifications without walking to the machine.

Every function of the PC-based Mach III Cell Controller is selected by clicking on an area of the main graphic image that shows the layout of the entire machining system.

Machining Report

Shows machining status by part number and by machine. Provides both real time monitoring of work in process, and production status displayed in tables or charts.

Operation Report

Provides machine status and utilization histograms for each (or all) machines in the cell. Track true machine utilization without any paperwork. See how much time each machine was powered up, machining, waiting for parts, etc.

Production Report

Provides tables and charts for part/process comparisons, batch tracking and scheduling. Reports are exported to Microsoft Access. Review production history for any time period, and break it out by customer, category, part, cycle time per pallet, quantity, etc.

Tool Maintenance

Tool requirement checking determines if a machine has the appropriate tools before sending a pallet to the machine. Additional functions include tool presetter integration, RF ID tags, automatic loading of tool offsets, and tool life uploading and downloading. Current magazine size to 360 tools.

Alarm Report

Flags errors, diagnoses problems, and records those events for maintenance analysis and corrective action. Track the number of incidents and downtime per alarm. Alarm recovery is fully automatic, with motors relying on absolute encoders.
